Whatever Wednesday

Whatever Wednesday
It’s Wednesday and that means I can talk about whatever I want on this blessed day! I have decided to tell you about all the uses for coffee grounds, not only can you recycle them and be more” green”, there’s some great uses for the grounds. If you aren’t a coffee drinker, you can ask one of your local businesses to save them and most places will be willing to help. So, here’s a list of some of the uses I know of, I have not proven all these theories…but plan to try them all, so I’ll let you all know what works and what doesn’t in my experiences….more to come
1. Add the grounds to your compost /soil for garden, it has things like Calcium, Potassium, Nitrogen and Sulfur in it to help your garden grow. Also, helps ward away pests.
2. Sprinkle around the base of your plants as a fertilizer
3. Rub your hands with the grounds to get rid of onion smell after cooking with onions
4. Use to scour your pots and pans when cleaning
5. Dry grounds overnight then put into a sock and place in fridge as odor absorber, you can also add a few drops of vanilla for a even better odor
6. Use as a skin exfoliate in the shower, the caffeine is said to be particularly good for cellulite
7. De-Ice sidewalks after ice or snow
8. Keep bait worms alive by mixing with soil
9. Die Easter eggs by adding warm water and letting eggs soak
10. Use as a stain on furniture that needs touching up by adding warm water and soaking wood
11. Use coffee grounds to repel ants in areas needed
12. Use in flower beds to keep dogs and cats from digging
